About BUGI island

BUGI Island a blog about design, interior design, creative thoughts, the process of drawing and building his dream house and all the considerations it entails, for me it's the dream of BUGI's summer palace, and of course I also write a bit about Orø, the island in the middle of the Isefjord, where it all takes place in quiet beautiful surroundings, only an hour's drive from busy Copenhagen.

I myself am a designer, has my webshop BUGIstudio.com with own patterns, and otherwise does all sorts of other design things and freelance assignments (the surface of. a number of different lampshades for Le Klint).

I work with both designs for websites, print and textile design..and has also worked in the industry in the USA in 10 years within these areas (New York and San Francisco).

For many years I have also taught other designers to make patterns on computer and digital textile prints both abroad, but also at home on TEKO, Design School Kolding, Danmarks Designskole and KEA, Copenhagen Business Academy, the last many years on continuing education courses at KEA, where I have also made a lot of other things like events and graphics for leaflets, ads and the Internet.

Besides being a designer and liking details, am I a bit of a tech nerd, i love e.g.. printers and have many different ones that can print on almost anything, which you can see in my webshop. And I love experimenting both with techniques, pattern and materials.

After I opened this blog I also started my food blog BUGInamnam.com, where I share recipes and inspiration. I have since I was a child loved to bake and also love to take pictures, so the two things I have combined in my blog. But food is also an interest I share with my boy who really appreciates good food 🙂

Welcome to BUGI island, my little universe !

Best wishes,
Helle Abild, owner of BUGInamnam, BUGIstudio & BUGIisland

  3. Hey BUGS. Where to buy the fine white octagon 9x9cm tiles?
Can't find them anywhere. Hope you can help.
    Yours sincerely
    Rasmus

    1. Hello Rasmus,
Sorry for the delay…there is a link to the dealer, see at the bottom of this post then there are all the dealers I had grabbed….if you want them with white inlays they have a remnant of tile legs, but with black I could not find in DK and ordered from Fliesenonkel.de in Germany even incl shipping, they probably even ended up being cheaper. He is super good and understands English, and they quickly came upon a pallet. I also ordered a black away which you can see on the finished bathroom. Here tile link:
