Christmas Inspiration Guide

1.December already!!! so Christmas is really, are you ready? you lack inspiration? so just calm, here is help available.

At the bottom of this post I have compiled a a lot of link to Christmas inspiration, Alternative Christmas gifts etc.. There are both jewelry, clothes, lamps, furnishing fabrics, ceramics and a host of other, altsammen Danish design and crafts. NB! There is no paid advertising, I get nothing but the pleasure of sharing these recommendations 🙂

I feel for once reasonably clear. Even this year's candle is ready. I have used the same ornaments for about 10 years, it's really in the spirit of, sustainable and recycling. And now it has become a tradition, Christmas decoration that looks almost identical every year 🙂 Next step is confections, I love to make sweets.

Hope I have shared a few new Christmas recipes for years, but I've already gathered most of my sweets and Sønderjyske family Christmas recipes here on the blog. Mine own top favorites, is my grandma's gingerbread and my grandmother vanilla wreaths, try them :).

Honey cakes and vaniljekranse from Jutland can really recommended.

I am also ready for this year's Santa's Workshop, a workshop for children. I keep it with my talented colleague Charlotte Selvig Svendsen in her lovely paper workshop in Nansensgade. Everything is purchased for my sweet boy's Advent calendar, and he has despite its button 13 years (perhaps a little grudgingly) agreed to see Advent calendar with me ❤️just as we have done all the other years, I think that is SO cozy. We were pretty excited about Tinka July last year, and hope DR have made a good new Christmas calendar year.

Then nææsten ready, missing only a few Christmas gifts + making the annual photo calendar for the grandparents (see below)……and I look forward to some sunshine in December. This year we travel to Jordan on the Red Sea, with day trips to Jerusalem and Petra, it becomes so exciting.

COZY JULETRÆESTÆNDING

We always used to go to the lighting of the Christmas tree at Frederiksberg Town Square, it is cozy with booths, hot chocolate from scouts, mulled wine and fritters, song and goodie bags for kids, and our mayor Jørgen Glenthøj very top of the curve to turn on the Christmas tree (for the course he lights it with the torch ;))

GREATEST HIT – DIY CALENDAR FOR BEST PARENTS
Do you have children I can really recommend the yearly calendar. This year it 10 time I make it to the grandparents. I will select the best photos for each month of the year (except December, when I use an image from July from the year before, otherwise I can not get it finished in time). I started to 10 years ago with a calendar of CChobby I even printed images, cheap and fairly easy, but only 6 Pictures, but then they made it into a perpetual calendar without days, which does not make it particularly useful.

I went to 3 years ago of a photo calendar. I buy them at Printerpix in England, but there are certainly many other places that have them. It's actually my yearly and only Black Friday shopping, 5 calendars from PrinterPix for almost no money. You buy, and then you can upload photos later. It seemed ok, although one year only sent three calendars instead of 5, but they fik then sent the rest when I wrote to them.

FIELD’S DESIGNSTORE

Field's Design Store consists of 32 designers and craftsmen (I am one of them), who each have their own little area in the store, which makes it very different from all the other brand shops in the center. The store has a large variety of almost everything 🙂 and now also some fun Christmas decorations. The shop is located on 1. floor of Fields opposite the new sheet shop, and is open every day from 10-20 and from 13th. December until Christmas, is open every da pm 22 ….But hurry out and look, before after 8 years in Fields shall soon close, when the room is rented out. POLYMORPH

Several designers from Field's Design Store is also included in this fine shop on Jagtvej. The store has pottery, jewelry and lots of cool clothes. Have even bought a SONJA dress. Sonja dresses are almost always in fun fabrics in all colors, and with the most incredible print, mine has died “when” stripes, I love stripes and dots. One can also get Sonja mittens and underwear with the funniest motives, for example, some Christmas spruce 🙂 (see below).

ONE OFF

The shop is located right at the Round Tower. It has almost all kinds of traditional handicrafts, knit, silke, Glass, jewelry, ceramics. art & Crafts Landemærket 23, they have a Facebook page here

The trade association Danish Craftsmen and designers hold their big Christmas market in a tent in the garden of the Museum of Design 2 weekender. More info here
