BUGIisland's my “nickname” for Orø, so it is obvious to make a presentation on the project I just sit with…..
Indeed, I will take the last adjustments of a new design for the annual Orødag. Orødagen (always the first Sunday in June) is a day when the island is open with a lot of activities, there used to be a fairly large program and free ferries for walking and cycling.
For several years, they have used a card with a child's drawing. I was then asked by the island's new økonsulent if I could make a new design. When I really like the card with children drawing I have tried to stick as close to it as I could, also saw people who previously may see the map, it is the same event.
I'm a little proud of my little drawings of the two ferries, the church (I have cut some of), Horse Bede Farm, culture container and Orøstenen. I actually t-shirt with the ferry could be a fine souvenir 🙂
If all goes well there will also be an app so you can see all activities on a map and use the phone's GPS to find around the island.

Nice to see your new Orø day design. Super nice and stylish, like everything else you do here I can see! But of course happy, that you stick to the old, and that you write, that you actually liked the children's drawing 🙂 Honored as the total amateur, both in computer and layouts we are. Because I have to confess, that it is a drawing min, back then 10 year old, son Asger made in another context, which I took and brewed on. Not easy only with the very basic drawing program in word I remember 🙂
Our idea with Orødagen, i 2007 was to show the island positively, open the doors and bid inside our home, etc., with what each one had to offer, without it should cost the guests something. No one should profit from it, apart from the island's reputation, which we indirectly sold with commitment . And especially for families with children with ulterior motives about possible relocation 🙂 That is why I chose to make it naive, so it spoke to families with children, (and bicycles. We were actually considering at the time if we could make the day totally car free)
Glad you stuck to it a bit originally – and yes probably also good for the sake of recognition. I love that you have made the island green and up to date of course. Personally, I liked it about the old one, that it looked like an ordinary happy children's drawing, but can also see, that over the years it has taken on a slightly broader form, and the text and color above and below disappeared relative to the original. The unrest should be a happy message, I think you have kept it 🙂 and now professionally. Well.
Good Pentecost, which offers the Art Route in Odsherred – which Orødagen was otherwise inspired by at the time. And good Orødag soon. If you keep open, I will probably consider coming to Orø on the day 🙂 Has unfortunately become an emigrant since.
