Granny's Apple traybake

apple pie pieces
This Apple Cake, I remember vividly from my childhood. My mother baked not that often, and I think she only baked this in order to use some of the many apples we had in the garden.

I also remember that we packed apples into newsprint, and stored them in boxes garage. And no I have not lived in the countryside, but in an old villa at the Frederiksberg.

It makes me actually quite bad conscience, for I ought to have done the same this year. We have had so many apples from our tiny Apple tree, but I think, unfortunately, that we have thrown most out which does quite evil in me, I really hate to throw food out 🙁

The cake is very “Basic” but super easy to make, and are you a fan of cinnamon can also be sprinkled with cinnamon. It tastes good warm with a little cold whipped cream to (or sour cream).
