How can we print around on a mug ? + See who won a mug in my user survey
Several times I have been asked about, how I can tap on a mug, so here I am trying to show the process. I press not right on the mug, on a paper with. First I make a design on the computer, print it out on a printer that is set up with sublimation ink. The special sublimation ink is that it only binds the polyester, but it is super nice in color and holds great, the color of textiles is of course within the fibers. And all my mug can easily tolerate dishwasher.
When I print my design on paper, I taper it around the mug (with special tape that can withstand heat). The mug warmed with a mug heat press that heats all around the 180 degrees in 3 min. High heat color becomes a gas which "moves" from the paper onto the mug, which has a special coating / icing of polyester. I use the same technique to other things I have, bla doormats, cake tins and my new cable bags / purses for chargers, wires and plugs.

First designed on the computer, I print out on paper and taper on the mug

I use the Cricut Mugpress, I put the mug in there and it beeps when it's done, it couldn't be easier, cup press and mug can buy here.
I have also made mugs that I have drawn with special markers and foils that fit a Cricut cutting machine, they can be seen here.

Here, the paper peeled by, the color has now moved on to the mug
If you don't have a sublimation printer, but would like to make mugs and have a cutting machine, you can get a lot of patterned sheets and markers that fit cricut cutting machines that you can use. You can read more about it in my Cricut blog here

so…you have the right wins 🙂
Hi.
I am completely new to this hobby world.
I bought heat presses, a new Epson printer. But but what for some ink should I buy and where can I buy it. I have seen somewhere that the ink stands next sf in containers and are fed into the printer.
Is that right?
Sincerely Betina
Hi….for me it is not a hobby but part of my work 🙂 and I use a larger setup and a large printer. I tried recently to help someone else who wrote to me, but it is not as simple and I do not actually know where you can buy the things you need Peel….think I suggested that he ask here where they sell hot press http://www.skilteproduktion.dk/index.php/4i1-kop-varmepresser-til-overforing-af-sublimationstryk.html so sorry, I can not help you and do not have time to Google when I started to pack, fly to the USA tomorrow morning…Good luck with that.
