Hash Brown (Rösti)

hash brown

We love potatoes at home with us, and hash brown is certainly no exception, and yet a wonderful thing about a real American breakfast.

They can both be served for breakfast or as an accompaniment to dinner.

They are easy to make, and you have a food processor with a grater it doesn't take many seconds.
I made only a portion where I tore the potatoes on a quite common grater, but did so in thought about my Kenwood Cooking Chef have so much accessories, bla. a food processor with the river iron to put on top, so I did and put the kid to put the potatoes in and 1-2-3 was the torn.

I have roasted them in my new Tefal machine, here I have compiled a little different things I've made on the machine the last 2 week 🙂

RECIPE – Hash Brown (Rösti) CA. 8 pcs

INGREDIENTS

500 g potatoes
2-4 tbsp oil (with 4 TBS is the right greasy, as on an American Diner)
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
You may want to experiment with different spices eg 1 TSP paprika

APPROACH

  • Wash the potatoes (I've spent less and fixed non-mealy potatoes)
  • If you want you can peel them, but when I use the small clean potatoes do I make it not.
  • Grate on the most serious gaps on a grater or in a food processor
  • I think they will be best if one squeezes the water out of them, either with paper towel, or by a larger portion to put it all in a tea towel and squeeze the liquid out
  • Mix the potatoes, oil, salt and pepper in a bowl
  • Grease a pan and put smaller blobs of potatoes, they are easier to turn if they are not too big
  • Push them a little flat and FRY on both sides until they are golden brown
  • I've even baked them in the pancake plates for my Tefal Snack machine, but turned them anyway along the way

    1. No they do not have to be cooked first. I've not peeled them, I use the smaller potatoes that are more pure in it then I rinse them just.

  1. Why do you flip them? Can’t you simply close the lid and allow the rösti to cook from both sides at the same time? That is what I do. Of course, if you cook an egg in the companion mold at the same time, I imagine that you cannot close the lid.
