The classic date confections in new clothes, perfect combination with the sweet and the crude licorice

I always think we had date confections for Christmas in my childhood. And even though I keep of simple classic confections, Nevertheless, I have tried with a new version rolled in crude licorice here, Plus, of course, I've used my own homemade Marzipan 🙂

RECIPE – Date confections

INGREDIENTS

Fresh dates
Marzipan (low the evt the own, recipe here)
Crude licorice powder (Raw Liquorice Powder, from Larkids/Johan Bülow)
Pearl sugar
Desiccated coconut
Experimentation possibly with completely different flavors

APPROACH

  • Cut a small slit lengthwise in dadlen and take the stone out
  • Roll a piece of marzipan twice the size of the stone and put it into the hole in the dadlen
  • Squeeze the dadlen together and rub it so it becomes a bit oily
  • Scroll dadlen in licorice, Pearl sugar or coconut
